Week 1 - Identify and Narrow in on "Your People" (Target Audience)

Because most entrepreneurs need more clients, they increase the size of their target audience hoping it will help them attract more clients. But the logic doesn’t work. Instead, you need to focus on a narrow target audience that shares the same problems and obstacles to their goals. Then it becomes much easier to deliver a solution that effectively solves their problem. It also becomes much easier to craft a message that deeply resonates with that group.

Even those entrepreneurs who already have a fairly tight target audience, once I help them get to know their audience better, we discover opportunities to grow their business faster by focusing on an even more ideal subset of that audience. I'll show you how removing even a small segment from your target audience can sometimes result in a massive increase in the number of customers you convert.

Progress You'll Make: During week one you will learn and then go through the process of defining and tightening up a target group that you know you will enjoy serving and then you’ll begin to begin to identify the best places where you will find your target audience.

Week 2 - Find and Connect with "Your People"

Now it’s time to really find and connect with your target audience. There are lots of opportunities to do so both off-line and online. In order to make marketing time and cost effective, you need to find places where your audience congregates in concentrated groups and is open to your message. We'll go through the many options available to you specifically and identify those that are the best fit for you and your target audience.

Because you need more clients, we’ll go over and even practice methods to help make finding and connecting with your audience easier for you. Once you know where to find your audience and how to do so, it’s time to step outside of your comfort zone and connect with them.

Progress You'll Make: You'll identify the most time and cost effective places online and offline to find your target audience. Then you'll begin reaching out and connecting with them.

Week 3 - Engage with "Your People"

The next critical step is to gather feedback from your ideal customers to gain a deep understanding of them.  But if you want your ideal customers to open up and engage with you, you need to first open up and engage with them. 

How do you do that? You'll learn how to move beyond one-way monologues too often found in blog posts, tweets, and videos. We'll cover a number of different methods you can use to build relationships and motivate your audience to not only respond with feedback, but also enthusiastically interact with you and others among your audience to form a sense of community.

Progress You'll Make: You'll begin interacting with your audience in ways that encourage them to begin engaging with you.

Week 4 - Gather Feedback and Understand "Your People"

Not only do you need more clients. You need to understand your clients.

The best way to make sure your product or service is exactly what your customers want and that your marketing message resonates deeply with them is to get to know your customers better than their spouse. Okay, maybe not that well. But you need to understand their problems, obstacles, and goals related to the area you aim to serve them.

The best way to do that is through quick interviews using the Problem Obstacle Goal (POG) questionnaire that I'll provide to you. I'll walk you through the exact steps of how to request interviews, what to say during the interviews, how to record the feedback during the interviews, and more. I’ll even give you scripts if you want to use them and we’ll practice doing interviews together to get you comfortable with the process.

This may be a little more challenging for those who consider themselves introverts. That's why I also show you other more introvert-friendly methods to begin gathering feedback as you ease yourself into the interviewing process.

Progress You'll Make: You'll begin gathering valuable feedback from your existing or prospective ideal customers and record their feedback to gain a deep understanding of your target audience and gather the building blocks for your sales messages.

Week 5 - Analyze and Actionize the Feedback

Now that you have feedback from your customers, it’s time to analyze and actionize (a word in my personal dictionary) that information. You’re going to use the POG worksheets to summarize the information from the interviews and gain complete clarity about your customers’ problems, obstacles, and goals.

Then you will take that information and use it to identify a new solution for your customers or confirm if your existing solution is the right fit for this target audience.  You need more clients, but if you and your product or service isn't the right fit for them, they'll quickly look for solutions elsewhere.

You'll also organize their feedback using the worksheets I provide to help you know exactly what to say when talking to both prospects and customers about their problems and how your product or service is the perfect solution. Awkward sales pitches are a thing of the past. You’ll use their feedback to pull together the perfect phrases to:

  • get your customers to express their needs,
  • to naturally respond to their needs and provide value, and
  • then transition into your offer.

Progress You'll Make: You'll create your top secret customer insider sheets to reference to on a daily basis when serving and marketing to your customers. You'll  identify the service or product you'll deliver to your audience to solve their problem. And finally, you'll identify the key phrases to use when serving and converting your customers.

Week 6 - Create the Offer

Now it’s time to take advantage of all your investigative work and craft a sales message they can’t refuse. Why can’t they refuse it? Because you’re inside their head and know exactly what their problem is. You already know the objections that are holding them back and you can address them before they even have a chance to voice them. You also know what they most want and you’ve identified a solution that helps them get it most effectively.

When they hear your sales message, they’re going to be shocked by how well you understand them. Because you understand them so well, they’ll trust that you also understand how to solve their problem. By taking the time in the previous steps to understand them, now you'll be able to gain their trust. Keep in mind, you’ll need to create a great solution to keep their trust. But you know you can do that.

Progress You'll Make: You'll use the customer insider feedback you gathered to craft a message they can't refuse. Then you present the offer to your audience and begin seeing the money come in!
